Big Bear Accent Chair

Not too firm, not too soft, the “Big Bear” chair is just right. Goldilocks herself would have found the perfect spot on this 44″ wide enchanted throne of comfort. Designed by next-generation designer Nathan Anthony Mai, a student at Otis College of Art and Design, Big Bear is an emotional comfort-based design that offers the effect of a hug while sitting, literally.

Imagine a chair that envelops you in a feeling of security, tranquillity, and pure cosiness. Upholstered in a plushy boucle or soft chenille, Big Bear features three repeating U-shaped pieces arranged to look like two arms reaching out, inviting a hug for the sitter. With soft, rounded, and sheltering arms, you are encouraged to climb up and sit any way you like; it is double padded with memory foam all around.

Big Bear and its companion chair, the “Bear Cub," measuring 38″ wide, create a cosy escape for today’s urban dweller, no matter what your décor style.
