Antique Spanish Renaissance Dining Base

This is a very handsome antique Spanish renaissance style table with the original painting vibrantly throughout the piece including on the prominent stretcher. The carvings are magnificent and show full depth details. Validating the importance of the piece is the prevalence and quality of carvings on the inside portions of the legs which were often ignored or done quite modestly in an effort to save carving time and thus money. This master carver spared no expense on this piece before turning it over the the expert painter. It is rare that we see these types of pieces gilded and painted and even more rare to find one that has been preserved so well.
